Gone MAD

Maribor, Slovenia – March 2-3, 2007

The Dauphins have gone MAD. Indeed, members of the Geneva Club Dauphins attended the Maribor Apnea Days Cup in Maribor, Slovenia. It was a team competition (the Dauphins being a mix of Swiss, French and Canadian) which also rewarded individual efforts which made it very interesting.

The competition started on the Friday evening with Dynamic No Fins where William broke his own pan-American record with a performance of 150 meters, finishing second individually.

The next day was going to be Static in the morning, followed by Dynamic in the afternoon. While William took it easy in the morning, fellow team mate French freediver Christian Maldamé did a static of 6:55, not only a personal best but also the winner in that event.

Late afternoon, William took his start in Dynamic, once again breaking his own pan-American record with a new personal best of 179 meters.

Overall points from Joakim Boillod, Christian Maldamé and William Winram won the bronze trophy for the Team Dauphins. Overall points for William Winram ranked him second individually.
